here, there, and everywhere

they say that everything in the world can be found in a japanese vending machine. i didnt really believe that was the case until i got here. yes, they are on every corner. yes, you can buy pretty much everything in them, from hot coffee to cold beer to everything inbetween. and yes, it makes any type of age law completely useless.

among the items available for purchase in a japense vending machine:

pop, juice, coffee, tea, vitamin drinks, beer, sake, cigarettes, rice, disposable cameras, film, cds, candy, gum, ice cream, snacks, bread, cups of noodles, hot dogs, stamps, postcards, batteries, newspapers, herbal remedies, pornography, fortunes, hot meals, pearl jewelry, paperbacks, fresh flowers, fast food, eggs, underwear, vegetables, video games, and pajamas.

tangled up in blue

inspired by the mass interest in blogs by cnn, overseas friends, and liberal/conservative political pundits, i've decided to create one of my own. it'll save me from writing any mass emails which i always hate, as well as able to influence everybody to become hockey playing, gambrinus drinking, pearl jam listening, japanese loving people.

so if you don't know yet, i get to nagoya, japan on friday, march 24 and start on a one-year teaching contract with ecc. if you want to know how it goes, well, read the blog.
